Hi Jeni , I love that picture of you and your Grandmothers hands. That is special. My Grandmother was very special to me too. I'm so glad I got to be close with her. So many of these new generations have no idea where they came from. Your songs are kinda like the oldest way of telling the past to the future. For thousands of years that was the only way to preserve history. Maybe still is...
I love what you say about songs. What a beautiful way to put it, "the oldest way of telling the past to the future." So true, Daniel. I feel blessed that I've had so much time with my grandmother. Because my parents were so young when they had me, my grandmother was only 41 when I was born. She says I was the daughter she was wanting. That means so much to me. Hugs to you, friend.
I don’t have many old photos left, what with world wars and bushfires, but I am deeply conscious of (particularly) the 45,000 years worth of Latvian foremothers without whom I would not be here, or doing this work. They would agree with us both that the best way forward is through love and kindness, through laying a longer table, stretching the soup and sharing our blankets and hearts.
Yes, laying a longer table and stretching the soup. Yes, please. Hugs, love, and kindness across the miles and the troubled whirling ("whirld" the great word you used today in your letter) waters to you, India. Thank you very much for your fellowship.
Jeni, the Dr. Is so old. I can't cut the mustard anymore, but I can still lick the jar. Love you.
Wonderful!!!! Love, love you!!!!!
I love you right back, Dr. Buddy.
Thanks for the hug. I needed it today.
I've thought of your and your family so many times this past week. You all are in my heart.
