Yes to a video on paper boat folding! And I think I need to make Chip a hat when I get home. Not sure if he'd keep it on for long, but he'd sure look jaunty in it. I love the detail about how the printers used to make these hats to keep the ink out of their hair.

Thank you very much indeed, Jeni! My granddaughters and I shall be making hats today! I have a memory from the early 1960s of seeing a house painter wearing a similar hat. Your boats are adorable too…I make slightly different ones, and shared them with my students during the plague, asking each person to send me a short clip of their boat , floating on some kind of water, with a tea-light inside. I asked my friend John Fohl (musician and songwriter based in New Orleans) to record music to accompany the video. It was a little vision of hope in a dark time. Maybe we need to do something like that again….
