So much the same here - I can count the number of time I’ve worn it in 56 years on the fingers of one hand 🤣. I feel silly with coloured nails and I hate the feel of the weight of it on my nails - I always made a mess of it anyway, or it would chip within minutes. The best I can do is trim neatly and use a buffer to shine them - lasts about a day!! I don’t know how people can wear acrylic nails either! The smell as I walk past the local nail salon makes me gag🤢. Au naturel it is! 😅
My nails are usually fairly short. I work a retail job often opening boxes and putting out product so can’t keep them long. I do love to put on nail polish when we are on vacation or off for a few days or holidays. It makes me feel “girly”. Also have to wear it when rocking’ on stage! That’s where the darker, sparkly colors come out. Otherwise it’s a subtle color or a nice light pink. I will think of you next time I put it on!
I am glad to hear that you wear nail polish when you’re rockin’ on stage!! You’re truly the coolest. And I am glad you will think of me since I can’t wear it which is a bummer since I love the chance to feel girly, too. Stanley Bear says he doesn’t wear nail polish, but he can definitely rock any hat that’s going! Huge hugs to you!
Wow! My limited exposure to said polish…i’ve cleaned up gallons over my career of broken bottles, used clear and strengthener on my right hand for picking, and may or may not have fully painted them for halloween 😉. Thx for the chuckle miss jeni. 🫶🏻💃🎉
Me too Jeni!! I can't play that sax with polish! Immediate suffocation and lead weights at my tips. Maybe clear or nourishing polish every once in a while. I hope you're doing great. Love all the comments here, too. So proud of you and live your posts when I can catch them. We have to catch up some way soon, see each other on the road. Love always, Jersey Julie
Stanley Bear and Odile have never considered putting polish on their paws, but they like it when their friends feel pretty. 🩷
I'm not a nail-polish girl; I love my square blunt clever hands, but they look nervous with decorations on. Plus I keep my nails super-short, a leftover from the days when I played guitar (nothing fancy!) for church and camp sing-alongs and for my own delight. No calluses any more, though...!
Oh my goodness! I thought I was the only one who scraped and chewed nail polish off! Actually that was more fun than applying it, if I’m honest. My mom was always telling me it would make me sick, but I don’t think it ever did.😉
I always look at people with painted nails and think "what do you actually do with nails long and coloured" no gardening without gloves, no washing up, no picking flowers, being careful not to dig them into the baby when you pick him/her up, no gentle caress. Gosh, I don't want or like painted nails!!
Nail polish makes me nervous. I felt nervous as I started reading this piece! And then it was all okay because it makes you feel claustrophobic, which is probably the reaction I'm having, too. I love all the photos of the dolls with the little rims of leftover polish on their sweet fingers!
Oh!! We’re definitely separated twins. It’s all confirmed now. The teddy bears, the yarn, the writing passion, the nail polish claustrophobia. It’s all one big sign! Huge hugs to you. ♥️♥️♥️
Oh!! I had wondered if I would hear from friends who also love nail polish but find it claustrophobic. And here you are. It’s a good thing we both love wool in our hands! That’s something ♥️ hugs to you!

I love your glitter band photo you sent on FB!! That surpasses nail polish!
I only tried nail polish once, and took it off about half an hour later …. because I couldn’t breathe. It’s claustrophobic.

I love that you did this, too!!!!!

I can’t play my instruments with them either! I’ve seen people play guitar with long nails, but it just goes all wrong for me.

Separated at birth! So fun. Love and hugs back to you!
Hi Jeni ,
I guess my fingernail polish is usually grease from working on trucks.! Other that that i don't polish them. Lol
Thanks for this letter. I do enjoy to hear how your life is doing. Music and stories are in everything you do ! 💖
I love that your finger polish is engine grease!! That’s the best, really! Huge hugs to you always, Daniel!
My fingers/fingernails also feel claustrophobic with Polish — but oh, the colors I see on other peoples hands…
