Your writings brought a pricking salt tide to my eyes…thank you for the king mention, and may I say I adore the picture of MawMaw in her pink flowered hat and swooned over the image of the strip quilt.
Am on limited internet access at present (in the wilds of Bretagne) and not in a position to catch up with the news so had entirely missed the current disaster. Will have to save your song for when the interpixies allow (and I’m in a quiet place).
I’m very excited about your preparations in Bretagne amongst the blue! I’ll take a picture of the whole strip quilt at some point. Sending you my best always. x
Oh Jenni, this post is an absolute treasure! I read your post and study the photos and I think, there's an amazing novel in these words! But your readers are lucky we don't need to wait for a book. We get your wonderful words (written and sung) on the regular. The way you evoke the lives of your family is truly amazing. And thanks for the shout-out to me!
I absolutely love this post and song. The stories of our past... Well, in this case - yours. My grandad on my mum's side left the UK for America and Canada where for a while he was a cowboy and then ran a diary farm. When his first wife Molly contracted TB they came back to the UK. I have photos of him and his diary cart, one with my aunt in it if I remember correctly.
Thanks for sharing your amazing song and equally important story.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to listen, read, comment, and share. I love this story about your Cowboy grandad!! The photos sound great. I hope you’ll share them!
I love this post so much, Jeni! Warm, comfortable, lovely, and so authentic...as always. Thank you!
Thank you very much for reading and listening. And thank you for telling me so. It makes such a difference to my heart.
You have such gifts! We're lucky that you share them. 🤗
